Next Generation: Apartment of the Future Concept Design

The design of the apartments have evolved in the last few years, and will continue developing with technology advancements. The apartment of the future is a complete new concept, it pervades and enhances as the architects and designers adopt new styles and feats.

Below listed are a few technologies that are comprises to define apartment of the future:

Delivery Drones

These drones can drop off packets and other utilities into another apartment safely and securely. This technology will lower down the use of elevator system as it will help people in delivering things to another resident’s apartment with the help of drone.

Robotic Parking

It will become an essential feature within the apartments as the site size will decrease, and automatic parking will make systematic sequencing of cars while saving valuable space and time. As a part of robotic parking, drone landing pads will be also used so that cars can be transported vertically outside the building to the right parking location. The car drivers will then be able to instruct parking with the touch of a smartphone app.

Self-Driving Cars

Within the few years, the roads are going to experience autonomous cars dominating the urban areas. There will be special parking for those vehicles that can automatically park themselves while for human-driven cars, the apartments will accommodate robotic parking system as listed above.

Smart Exteriors

In the process of creating apartments for the future, designers will propose only the lightweight and incredible strong carbon fibre. Such kinetic façade exterior will out bring energy and movement combined with energy efficient LED lighting that will assist in growth of vegetation. Therefore, the apartment of the future will produce solar as well as wind energy as a feature of smart exteriors.

Luxury Amenities

Residents in the apartments of the future are going to enjoy the on-the-go lifestyle which includes one feature as smart phone enabled entry. The residents can provide limited access time to enter and also reset the time as per the requirement. There will be bigger and functional closet spaces into rooms and also huge balconies. The residents will also experience gas cook tops and recycled glass counter tops in the kitchens.

5 Machine Learning Trends Will Train the IoT MarketAeroAstro Engineering

The ever-growing world of Information and Technology will soon experience new changes as IoT and machine learning is evolving rapidly. Here we have five of the most dominant machine learning trends that is set to change the IoT Market.

Mobile Machine Learning

The highly compressed machine learning chips will be probably the biggest trend that will affect the presence of IoT. These chips with neural network capabilities will not be as powerful as their cloud-based counterparts, still they will be capable of machine learning tasks.

Automated Data Science

The technology will automate tasks such as scribbling data, removing trivial errors, and deleting junk data which are carried out regularly and are also prone to errors. Such as advent, hence will make this process smooth.

Synthetic Data

Researchers who works on IoT and machine learning algorithms might need a certain amount of data to carry out experiments. In such cases, instead of creating their own data, these professionals can use already existing relevant data. Probably knows as the synthetic data, this collection can be immediately linked to a machine learning algorithm to carry out experimentation.

Machine Learning Hardware

Engineers have now developed some new machine learning hardware that can efficiently and quickly crunch numbers located on the cloud. These tools made the process more quick and affordable.

The Machine Learning’s Black Box Limitation

Machine learning algorithms are generally not programmed, but get evolved as experiment takes place to collect and process data to generate useful information. This can be a hurdle for those who try to deploy machine learning in medical devices. Researcher says they are still making efforts in this direction.

Aparna Ramani is currently working with Facebook as the Director of Engineering. She leads a team of professionals that deals with and processes real-time data and analysis. The team is a significant player in technology for Facebook’s Newsfeed.

Drones learn to navigate by imitating Cars and Bicycles Autonomously

The commercial drones these days make use of the Global Positioning System (GPS) to traverse. Such a method works fine when the drones fly at a high altitude. But the real hurdle arises when these drones navigate autonomously at a lower altitude. At such low altitudes, there are several issues such as

  • More density of building
  • Unstructured stress with the movement of several vehicles and humans.

The drones at this level have not reached to such a stage where they can react to an unforeseen event quickly. There are ways to enhance the functionalities of these drones.

Integration of autonomous navigation in drones

The development of DroNet by researchers at the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Robotics and the University of Zurich shows that autonomous navigation of drone is possible. It is an algorithm that helps the drones to fly through the busy streets of a city safely. With the help of one input image, it produces two outputs:

  • A steering angle and
  • A collision probability

The former helps the drone to avoid accidents, while the later helps it to identify the dangerous situations and react to them.

Powerful artificial intelligence algorithm

A team of Swiss researchers sought the help of a powerful algorithm and a normal smartphone camera to make the drones smarter. The combination helped the drone interpret the real-time situation and react accordingly. The algorithm used, consisted of Deep Neural Network.

Teaching the Drones through Cars and Bicycles

The collection of training examples is one of the biggest issues in Deep Learning. The drones can learn by imitating the driving behavior in the examples. Thus, Prof. Scaramuzza, along with his team collected the data from cars and bicycles driving in urban areas.

Fully autonomous drones – The Future

Through this research, the doors are open to several applications such as parcel delivery, surveillance and much more. The drones can drive within the clustered roads, with ease and save a lot of time. However, the team cautions from expecting too much from cheap drones.

Italian Architect Designs Folding House that can be built in 6 hours

Wouldn’t it be nice if building houses became quick and moving them from one place to another became possible? An architect from Italy has proposed a new housing model which is completely different from the traditional way of building houses. He suggests a model where the houses can be folded. The assembling time of this house is not more than six hours with just three people working on it. Doesn’t that sound interesting?

M.A.Di Homes

Renato Vidal, an Italian architect and the founder of M.A.Di (Modulo Abitativo Dispiegabile) homes, assures of high quality and safe homes that can be built quickly and transported easily. M.A.Di homes are available in a few customizable models. All the models are equipped with the basic facilities such as toilets, furnished kitchen, and technical installations such as water and electrical systems.

Installation

The houses are built in modules to make the construction quick and simple. Multiple modules can be attached to build a huge house. The installation of the house does not depend on a concrete base. The house can be placed directly on any flat floor. However, for people who want a permanent house, are advised to build M.A.Di houses on foundation stakes.

Eco-friendly Optimization

Furthermore, these houses also support the installment of solar panels, LED lightings, and gray water treatment systems. Moreover, the external walls carry the color of customer’s choice. The walls basically come in wood veneers, which can be customized with natural fiber, aluminum, plaster, and much more.

Price

The smallest house M.A.Di home costs up to 30,000 USD and covers nearly 26 square meters. The maximum expansion possible is up to 84 square meters which can cost 75,000 USD on an average. The costs of the house, however, depends on the customization selected by the customers.
